Of all the aspects involved with Internet marketing, the most important is building a list.  In general, the value of a list is about $1 per subscriber per month.  This could be much higher, if you develop a good relationship with your list and they are qualified buyers  These fundamentals are not just for those in the Internet marketing niche, but apply equally or even better to most any niche market where products are sold online.  As more and more people turn to the Internet for their primary source of information, the value of a good marketing list will continue to increase.

The basic list building needs are:

  • Domain and Hosting Account -  Most marketing experts highly recommend the services of Host Gator.  Eventually a dedicated server would be needed for the most serious marketers at $170 per month.
  • Squeeze Page or Sales Page – Effective copy is a necessity.

  • Professional Autoresponder – Although CGI scripts are available, a professionally managed service is needed by any serious marketer.  Not only are services such as Aweber very affordable at under $20 per month, but they will ensure that your email and IP address doesn’t become black-listed.
  • Free Offer or Paid Offer – This doesn’t have to be something provided by the marketer, although the customer relationship will be much better than with PLR products.

Among the most often overlooked needs is a streaming sales funnel.  Anyone who has purchased products from leading Internet marketing trainer Mike Cowles knows that he immediately introduces his affiliate program to his subscribers via a video on his thank-you page.  The video begins the process of creating a relationship with subscribers on his list.

The larger your list, the more leverage you have.

There are many obvious advantages to having a quality, responsive list, but one of the biggest advantages of having a list in the first place is leverage.  The larger your list, the more leverage you have.  Let’s say you want to “team up” with another Internet marketer in a joint venture.  Don’t you know the first question they’ll ask you is how big is your list?

It is also important to consider quality of your list.  The quality of a list depends on the relationship you have with your list, which is greatly facilitated by treating your list like you’d like to be treated.  Follow-up promptly, over-deliver valuable content and your list members will like and trust you, eventually becoming raving fans, and most likely earning you well above the “standard” $1 per month.  If internet network marketing happens to be your interest, please check out our recommended turn-key mlm attraction marketing system.

Jordan Schultz dropped out of college after six months and a few months thereafter started working in a restaurant owned by his parents.  Jordan Schultz internet marketerWithin 6 months, he was running the kitchen when they fired the head chef.  He started to love cooking and got very good at it, but after six years realized that he had no free time, working 60-80 hours a week, and had no social life.

In January 2009, he quit and started his Internet business.  After maxing out 6 creditcards and earning $15, he sought out Brian Fanale, who was in his primary company and asked him for help.  Today, he’s achieved financial independence, after learning to leverage the My Lead System Pro attraction marketing system.  In his own words:

Within my first day I was generating leads, a few days into it I was making affiliate commissions.  2 weeks into MLSP I made more money in a single day selling Magnetic Sponsoring products than I made in 2 weeks at my job.  Not even a month later I sponsored my very first person into my high-ticket item opportunity simply because I followed what MLSP was teaching me to do.  I now put between 1-4 people a week into my primary business with ease, And finally 8 months ago I was able to walk into my job, fire my boss, and never look back.

Jordan started following the MLSP strategies marketing on Facebook. Lately, he’s been using TribePro to get high Google ranking for his blog articles and generating massive leads.

He spends only about $100 monthly in marketing, with the exception of his OnlyWire account, which by itself is over $100 monthly since he is syndicating almost 200 of his team members.

Jordan advises those that are new not to quit and to realize that they’ll make a lot of mistakes.  In fact, Norbert Orelewicz, the MLSP founder fails in about 90% of his online efforts.  Jordan, also advises to take time off a day a week and fully understand why you want to accomplish your goals.  His success is an inspiration to many others, who need to focus an a success story in their industry to solidify their own belief in the process and possibilities available to an average person with little prior experience.

Brittany Lynch is an accomplished online marketer, who was formerly part of Google’s AdWords team.  She recently shared her unique methodology that has allowed her to make over $40K per month online, as well as some of the reasons she believes others haven’t reached this level of success.  Her three pillars of success are knowing your goals, creating systems, and knowing your numbers.

On the webinar, she showed her systems and formulas that she personally uses to double, triple, or quadruple the her monthly income.  These strategies will work for business owners, affiliates, and even newcomers to the Internet marketing world in gaining more time and money.  Here are the three pillars in more detail:Brittany Lynch Internet Marketer

  1. Know Your Goals – Increase the number of customers, persuade them to spend more after the initial order, and encourage more frequent buying.
  2. Create Systems - This step, which is the core of Brittany’s process, is described in the following paragraphs, involes choosing a profitable niche, creating a squeeze page that converts visitors into subscribers, having a product to give away, setting a sequence of follow up emails, and having a back-end product to sell.
  3. Know Your Numbers - You may have multiple niche products and services and need to know the cost of customer acquisition, the product price, and profits of each niche.  In addition, knowing the conversion rates for squeeze pages, webinars, sales pages, email opening, email click-through rates will enable you to understand how much can be spent in a given campaign.  Few marketers actually do the analysis needed to determine their return on investment.  Brittany believes a successful business is simply a numbers game of buying low and selling high, which removes the risk in starting your business.

Choosing a profitable niche requires that you find an audience that wants what you offer.  Then you must motivate this target audience to take action.  As an example, one of Brittany’s niche markets is “How to Start a Soap Making Business.”    Selecting a niche involves market research, in order to determine exactly what people are looking for.  Brittany suggests visiting online forums in order to make sure you’ve selecting an appropriate niche.

Creating follow up emails involves a change of thinking in Brittany’s opinion.  Specifically, you need to build trust with your list members by introducing yourself upfront, sharing personal information, sharing stories, providing valuable information and products you’d use yourself, and asking for feedback.

Examples of products you can create include audio interviews, video training, PDF reports, spreadsheets, and web templates.  Venues include sales pages, webinars, forums, and affiliates (joint ventures).  Brittany, who isn’t technically-oriented, dispells the myth that you need to be a web designer to succeed online.  Determine your strengths, and hire/leverage the specific skills needed for your business.

Nick Peall, Mr FBX, shared recently on a Ryan Deiss webinar of over 1,000 listeners how he created a 100K Facebook list in 24 hours.  Several of his followers have  recently surpassed this notable achievement, the highest at 169K. Nick initially was very negative about Facebook, but now is a big fan.  Why does he now love Facebook?

  1. He can create huge lists within days or even just hours.
  2. Making pages takes minutes with no need for FTP or domains.
  3. There is unlimited traffic going super cheap (under a penny)
  4. He can reach millions of people in any niche or vertical market.
  5. There is little to no competition, many of them doing a bad job.
  6. Communicating with your list takes just a photo or youtube video.
  7. The delivery rate for our Facebook updates is instant.
  8. Response times are measured in minutes or seconds.
  9. His audience is spending hours per day waiting to hear from him.
  10. There are nuggets of gold everywhere.

Social media is about making connections, earning trust and creating relationships

For those used to traditional Internet marketing, a Facebook list is entirely self-contained within the Facebook platform.  Most Internet marketers try to bring their Facebook fans “out” to their marketing lists on Aweber, GetResponse, etc.  What are the steps in his process?

Facebook users, unlike those searching on Google, are not usually thinking about buying

  • Create a fan page.  Make sure to use the Brand or Product category, or Facebook will take over the page once it exceeds 10,000 fans.Ryan Deiss Profile with Correct dimension
  • Create a profile photo 180px in width by 400 px height.
  • Create a tab on the fan page that is 500px wide by 400px high.
  • Select something in the “real world” with a real following, keeping in mind that you’ll be doing indirect and demographic marketing.  Rather that a page on losing weight, consider the demographics of your target audience.
  • Find a topic about which people are fanatical, and use to making purchases.  Engage your audience in two-way conversational mode.
  • Use targeting to test reach, comparing cost in different countries, using laser targeting according to your audience demographics, and using the correct time of day and/or week to place ads.  Monday/Saturday mornings are normally the best, since people are going to Facebook to make connections and to avoid boredom.
  • Sales funnels and marketing methods are completely different on Facebook, so Internet marketers must adapt and evolve.

Nick offers the FBX training program, in which several students have exceeded his own results, with countless members who are achieving a cost per click lower than 1 cent.  Results are achieved fast, often in hours or days vs. weeks or months in traditional Internet marketing.

Norbert Orlewicz and Brian Fanale recently put forth a simple strategy for members of their My Lead System Pro (MLSP) membership system.  Many of the attendees thought this to be a reversal of  MLSP’s previous teaching for at least two reasons.  First, Norbert and Brian highly stressed the fact that  although simple, a realistic plan for attraction marketing will take 6 to 12 months, perhaps to dispel any notion that their system would produce immediate or very short term success.   And second, they stressed that network marketers can’t really afford to “bypass” their friends and family.  Does this constitute a complete reversal of direction for MLSP?

Believing and knowing that you hold true value to other people gives you the confidence and abundance mentality you need in order to be an “alpha networker,” (or leader).  Mike Dillard

Norbert and Brian also made it clear that at some point in their “growth cycle,” the most successful marketers would develop their own custom systems vs. relying entirely on MLSP’s replicated system autoresponder follow-up campaigns,  squeeze pages and sales pages.  Not every marketer will follow the same path, but each will progress and make use of the Internet to varying degree according to their own capabilities, interests, and strategies.

MLSP continues to rely on the wisdom and example of Mike Dillard, who was one of the first to bring the disciplines of attraction marketing and network marketing together.  This despite the fact that they seem to have put some distance between themselves and Mike’s “traditional MLM is broke” approach.  Here are Norbert’s suggested  simple steps and blueprint for becoming successful in attraction marketing:

  1. Be a student of direct response marketing and attraction marketing.  Become more valuable in the process, as you’ll develop the ability to help others in their marketing plans and efforts.  This is the basis of Mike Dillard’s “funded proposal” concept.
  2. Provide solutions.  Begin using replicated websites that lead with value, training and feature solutions to your prospects’ problems.  Norbert suggests taking  a page from the playbook of the “father of attraction marketing,” Mike Dillard.  Mike’s genius was providing a simple solution for the problems being experienced by his prospects involving an upfront offer, an autoresponder, and funded proposal affiliate system.  Note that network marketing gurus have always sold their own “products,” which in some cases have become their primary income stream.
  3. Personalize.  At some point, you’ll be ready to customize your MLSP system.  Norbert suggests first customizing the email autoresponders by adding your own “voice.”  Later, you can add your own videos and customizations to your landing, sales, and welcome pages.
  4. Become a trainer.  Begin to teach and train others.  Create training videos, host webinars, and train your team.
  5. Leadership.  Create your own opt-in offers, capture pages, and individualized sales funnels.  You may consider your own products, e.g., an ebook, video training course, boot camp, etc.  But don’t fake this step, e.g., this is not the time to “fake it until you make it.”

    Why the Internet kills networkers

    The Internet Kills Networkers

The goal of the MLSP membership system is to develop master marketers and leaders in the network marketing community.  Their most notable success stories (beyond their own) include David Wood, Ray Higdon and others who are proof that Norbert and company have already succeeded in this aim.

Although some would perceive their strategy adjustments to mark a major shift, we believe that it is only a course correction.  The MLSP leadership merely underscores their position through a willingness to course correct when needed.  They will continue to lead the way for many to have extremely successful outcomes using the Internet and their own attraction marketing systems.

Ray Higdon recently shared his “non-techie” tips that he has used to produce up to 50 leads daily in his business.   Ray is highly successful as a top leader in MLSP and the top income earner in his primary company.   Although these techniques are mostly offline, they should be viewed as a part of an overall marketing strategy, which also includes online marketing.  These techniques, are for “hustlers,” vs. “hopers” in the industry.  If you’re more about online content, consider making videos of YOU going around town doing these techniques.  That could be an awesome integration of online content for attraction marketing.  What a concept!

Although Ray’s methods are mainly offline methods, they could be easily incorporated into your daily attraction marketing campaigns, by making videos of YOU using these methods to generate low to no cost leads.

  1. Use the System (My Lead System Pro) – This method requires 10 minutes per day, using the copy/paste and existing pre-configured sales funnels.  The estimated leads produced is 5+ per day.  When prospecting, ask key questions such as “Are you generating many leads on Twitter today?”
  2. Work Events -This method requires 2-3 hours per week attending 2 events in your area per week.  This method will produce 50 leads minimum (7 leads per day).  Find good networking events and get as many business cards as possible without introducing what you do.  Then follow-up with them the next day on the phone.  This is magical, since no one is doing it; rather everyone is pitching their company, program, or product.  Here is Ray’s script “Would you be open to a side project that doesn’t interfere with what you are currently doing.”
  3. Contest Entry Boxes -  This method takes 2-3 hours per week.
  4. Post it Notes – This strategy takes 4-5 hours per week placing a stamped post-it note all around town.  The suggested text is as follows:  “Superstars Only – Make $50-$300K – Don’t Even Call Unless You Are a Producer and Can Prove It.”  Larry Beacham has used this method to generate 35 calls to his GoogleVoice mail from 100 notes.  The technique requires posture, and although it shouldn’t be stated as a job opportunity many will perceive it that way.  Larry suggests
  5. Realtor Signs – While driving around town, call 5-20 realtors, asking them “Would you be open to a way to making an income that has nothing to do with real estate?”  Today most real estate professionals are having trouble surviving.
  6. Free Seminar or Webinar – This method requires 4-5 hours weekly, using content from MLSP in your own webinars.  Prior to the seminar, ask attendees to describe their main issue or problem with online marketing, and then try to address their answers in the form of an advertisment for a second session which will address their main issues.
  7. Really Going for Referrals – This method although only taking 1-2 hours weekly will produce 5-50 leads per person.  For people who tell you “no,” ask “You have got to know someone who has been affected by the economy or lost their job; would you mind if we shared this with them?”  If still “no,” then say ” No? Really? No one you want to help?  Someone struggling?”  After you contact their referrals, call the person back for more.
  8. Card Grab – This method takes 1-2 hours weekly and can produce 10-30 leads per day.  Find places in your area that have corkboards where people place their business cards or advertising.  Call them and say “Not sure where I found your card, but would you be open to a side project that doesn’t interfere with what you are doing?”  These are people who want to make more money or they wouldn’t be advertising.
  9. Local Google Alerts – This method takes 1-2 hours weekly and can generate 5+ leads per day.  Google will alert you of news in cities you might want to develop a team.  Don’t watch the news, but let the news come to you if it will help you get more leads, e.g., learn about when a mortgage company closes in the area.  Contact people featured in the news and prospect them by building relationships vs. beating them over the head.
  10. People You Meet – This method takes 1-2 hours per week and can generate 5+ leads per day.  Don’t explain or present and keep it loose, oriented to family, occupation, recreation.  Be rushed and tell them “gotta run,” but as you are leaving ask “Just throwing it out there; would you be open to a side project…”  Ray finds that 9/10 will say “yes” or “what is it?”  Although Ray has done his company presentation over 900 times, he WILL NOT present now, because it is not duplicatable (the prospect will think this is what they have to do). Ray’s next statement is “Well, it may or not be for you, but check out the following information (website, audio CD, etc.) and I’ll follow-up afterwards.”  Get their information and try to set a follow-up appointment.

To be successful in MLM, you have to be willing to talk to people.

For every single prospect, and especially those that say “no,” Ray will ask the following:  “How are you doing generating leads online.”  Ray also advises not to forget your warm list; just don’t be addicted to the outcome, or expect sensational results!  Even Mike Dillard, the king of online attraction marketing, recently told an audience in Las Vegas, that he would go to the warm market “as long as he didn’t care if they responded or not.”  One person should not be able to bring you down, especially considering that a full-time residual income can be generated in 3 years or less in this industry (where else is this true?).  But, to be successful in MLM, you have to be willing to talk to people.  For further information and to access similar  attraction marketing leads generation training from MLSP’s leaders, please visit our MLSP Overview Page.

Many business opportunity seekers are asking the question whether network marketing or “pure” Internet marketing is a better business model.  Most Internet marketers have defaulted to the latter, often due to their lack of success with network marketing.  Most top-earning online marketers focus on “top tier” Internet programs, generally oriented to educating other Internet marketers on various methods and aspects of setting up a successful Internet business.  These “top tier” programs generally come with a hefty price tag and huge immediate gratification, which is one reason for their popularity.

High Profit Sales | Big Ticket Program | Top Tier Business
Uploaded by orphicmarketing. – Explore international webcam videos.

Network marketing offers a completely different residual income approach and opportunity, given that a good vehicle is chosen, e.g., a company and product that isn’t too hard to “swallow.”  A big problem with network marketing, is that the initial payouts seem miniscule in comparison with their “top tier” Internet counterparts.  Network marketers really work for slave wages initially, deferring their compensation to a “residual income stream” later on.

The network market’s job is actually to get people to understand and see the scope and magnitude of the opportunity itself.

Most people don’t really see the big picture with network marketing, though.  The network marketer’s job is actually just this .. to get people to understand and see the scope and magnitude of the opportunity itself.  This often takes a series of steps, or exposures, in order to gradually “convince” people or get them to “see” the true picture.  This is true both before people join as well as after they have “decided,” and inked the agreement.

Most find that a huge problem in getting people to succeed in a network marketing business, is getting them to take action.  The initial income stream seems so small, that most people vastly underestimate the long-term potential, therefore totally failing to engage.  Have you ever bought an audio course and then done nothing with it?  This is exactly what happens to new distributors, who make an initial purchase to join your network marketing business.  It is simply human nature to get distracted and many NEVER take concrete action with the business that you “convinced” them to join.

Have you ever bought an audio course or book and then done nothing with it?

Many people join, based on initially hearing the concept.  But the problem is that the concepts must be continually reinforced and strengthened.  As with most buying decisions, their initial decision to “join” is based on emotions which, for many, are not sustained.  A select few have no issue and once they “get it,” become unstoppable.  But this isn’t true for the vast majority.  A successful network marketing business must therefore be constructed on a firm foundation of reinforcement of the initial buying decision, and detailed step-by-step training.  Without this, the attrition rates experienced by most will not sustain a viable business.

A select few have no issue and once the “get it,” become unstoppable.

Maybe the “top tier” program sale is an easier route then?  It’s more like a “hit and run” encounter, without the necessity for follow-on and follow-up in building a team.  That is the choice, isn’t it?  Clearly, the rewards of true residual income will outweigh most “big sales,” but are you willing to make effort needed to achieve these rewards.  The choice is yours.

Brittany Lynch presented an excellent niche marketing webinar recently on a session sponsored by James Jones.  Brittany previously worked as an account strategist on the Google Adwords team, assisting large businesses with their campaigns.  Since leaving Google, she has tried 3 business models as an internet entrepreneur, the first two which didn’t bring her the income she was looking for.  Today, she builds websites, e.g., landing pages targeted to micro niches for her primary income source.  Here is the specific method she is now using successfully in niche internet marketing:

  1. Find a niche to market, according to your own personal interests.  Use Dummies.com to determine the interest in the marketplace for your particular interest area.  Dummies.com has already done much of the research on questions people are asking in your niche and you can use this as a basis for developing your niche.
  2. Check out products that exist on Clickbank.com that you may be able to market in your niche.  Select any applicable products as well as some of the copy from their sales pages.
  3. Check Google search results for advertisers using paid ads for this niche market, indicating that it is profitable.
  4. Create a Facebook business page to be used as a landing page for your campaign.  This will save you the cost of a hosting account and separate landing page.
  5. Do a Google search to find free content applicable to your niche.  Add this information, e.g., tips in your niche market, as posts on your Facebook business page.
  6. Add a post recommending your affiliate offer, using very casual language, but don’t make this the last post on the page.  Add several more posts with helpful content, so that people won’t immediately think of your page as a blatant ad.
  7. Use Quantcast.com to find the demographics for your niche according to websites that are currently using Google ads campaigns.  Using this research, you can now  setup a Facebook ads campaign.  Nice photos for your ads can be found on iStock.com for under $1.

Brittany Lynch’s method is proven and the value provided on this free webinar was immense.  We highly recommend her as a source of successful internet niche marketing methods.  For further information in internet marketing in the network marketing niche, visit our turn key marketing system.

Dean Holland recently shared some of his Internet marketing secrets on an online session.  Dean was mentored by Mike Jeffries, who was taught by Mike Filsaime.    Dean, who was nearly bankrupt two years ago with no blog, email list, or website at the time, began by showing inside his current 6-figure business as proof what can be accomplished online today in a very short time.  What are the core components of his success?

  • Core Component #1 – Mindset is crucial.  What you need to focus on is providing value to your market and not solely on making money.  Once you stop chasing money, money will start chasing you.
  • Core Component #2 – Planning is critical to growing a successful business.  A business plan establishes commitments that we must keep in order to achieve the success that we “say” we want.  Dean suggests writing down all of your daily commitments each day, so that you have a structure of what you’re currently doing and will know exactly what time is available for your Internet business.  Now you have established an action plan of what you’ll be able to accomplish in your business.
  • Core Component #3 – You have to take action.  Once you have a plan of action, you won’t be able to check email, spend social media time, etc. during time allocated to your Internet business.
  • Core Component #4 – List building is next.  Your list is one of your biggest assets, if not THE biggest.  This is where the term “push button money” comes from.  Dean found this slow to begin and took about 1 year to build a list of 3,000.  His list has now grown to 52,167 subscribers (in the last year).  You need a free gift, a squeeze page, a download page, and an autoresponder to get started building your list.
  • Core Component #5 – Blogging is key to gaining rapid online success.  Today, people don’t want to be “sold” to, rather to interact and “follow your story.”  People will follow what you’re doing and how you’re doing it.  Your blog is an online journal that will share your story to success.
  • Core Component #6 – Traffic is absolutely necessary to get blog comments and to build your list.  Where does FREE traffic originate?  Dean’s traffic tips include blog hopping ( regularly adding value to other blogs in your niche; not just spam comments), forum posting (post regularly in popular forums in your niche, e.g., Warrior Forum), and socialising your content (sharing with your followers on Facebook, Twitter, etc.).  About 14% of the traffic coming to Dean’s blog was from the Warrior Forum, when he was just getting started.

The process, in short, includes list building, regular blogging, driving traffic, and using your blog to build a relationship with your subscribers.  In the last year, the explosion of the social media platforms has forced some adjustments to “standard” Internet marketing methods, although the blog remains at the core of your overall strategy.  Finally, you can promote quality, relevant products to your list, which is also known as monetization.

We highly recommend Dean’s courses for in depth training from a true expert.  For additional information on attraction marketing in the network marketing (or any) niche, we suggest you also check out My Lead System Pro’s turnkey attraction marketing system which contains all of the components and training needed for your Internet marketing success both for the network marketing niche and any small business entity.

Mobile Internet is the fastest growing trend ever seen before in the world of technology.  Today there are about 1 billion mobile users, and by 2012 there will be 50 Million “apps” available to mobile users.  The average user sits in front of their computer 2 to 2.5 hours per day.  For the remaining hours, most now have access to a mobile Internet device.  Wired Magazine recently stated that “the Internet is Dead.”  Dan Hollings Internet MarketerWho will be the technology winners in the coming Mobile Internet Computing phase of technology’s hot cycles, which is already upon us?  Morgan Stanley has predicted that Mobile Internet will be bigger than the Internet in 5 years.  Dan Hollings, of mobilesuccessformula.com, recently shared some trends and secrets he is now using in mobile marketing.

Mobile will be bigger than the Internet in 5 years.

Even Facebook’s user base is already merging with that of Apple’s iPod/iPad customer base.  In Japan, 72% of the current Mixi user base is using Mobile Internet. Today in Japan, about 21% of ecommerce activity is taking place on mobile platforms, vs. about 9% in the rest of the world, which is where Japan was 10 years ago.  If Japan is the “trend setter,” what does this portend for the growth of the Mobile Internet marketplace.

Rapid Ramp of Mobile Internet Usage Will be a Boon to Consumers and Some Companies Will Likely Win Big (Potentially Very Big) While Many Will Wonder What Just Happened.

In the last 12 months, Amazon topped $1 billion in mobile sales.  Ebay had similar numbers.  These trend-setting online retailers are “training” your customers.  The intent to buy when using a mobile phone is 7.4 percent, which is significantly higher…over 3 times higher than buyers on computers.  Selling online is at least 3 times harder.  On the flip side, you have to lose your Internet marketing paradigms and concentrate on the areas that are working:

  • 2D Barcodes.  This technology was invented in Japan and is similar to UPC codes on products, which are 1D.  A 2D Barcode can be used to “trigger” actions when a picture is taken of it on a mobile phone, similar to the behavior of a hyper-link.  Obvious applications include business cards, which “navigate” a user’s mobile phone to your website.  Although not used by many people in this country, especially in the community of internet marketers.  The 2D barcodes are now available in Google Places.  A watermelon with a 2D barcode can have a link to where it was grown, e.g., the grower’s website.
  • Location-based Social Media.  This allows you to “check-in” to venues, which can optionally update your Facebook status, keeping a”log” of places you’ve visited.  In addition, users can play a “game” in which the venues you visit will provide you awards or “points” for visiting.  This is why Facebook now includes “Places,” in order to keep up with FourSquare.com.  Dan has achieved Google first page listings, based on his membership in FourSquare, by merely “checking-in” to his own business (in his house).   FourSquare.com is one of the first websites build with business in mind, e.g., Facebook has a social purpose and has adapted for business purposes.
  • Text Messaging.  In the mobile Internet world, short codes are used to build a list of prospects, e.g., an automotive store might send “text FredAuto to 99999.”  A streetwear retail store, The Attic, in Southern CA recently built a 1200 member VIP club to inform existing customers via mobile phones.  Recently, 232 people $20%) showed up for a sale informing them of a recent sale. $20K in 3 hours resulted.

Mobile phone users are beginning to use smartphones as their primary computer and TV. CNN Tech

A few more random statistics include the fact that 65% sleep with their phone and 6 to 10% text while having sex.  Also, 24% of people under 25 love to text while using the bathroom.  It’s time to “text” or get off the pot.  What are some secrets for mobile marketing?

  1. Never do another strategy, campaign or consulting job without thinking Mobile.  In today’s environment, web designers will take a few extra minutes to complete the basic SEO features.  Most are thinking SEO, but few today are truly thinking mobile.  For example, should your vehicle ads have your website, or mobile website, where someone can readily access it WHEN THEY SEE YOUR AD.
  2. Center mobile marketing around a database and FIRST drive text messages.  Why?  Text messages have a 95% open rate.  Also, text messaging works on all phones, and don’t require that people are in a wifi area.
  3. The iPhone, iPad, & mobile applications are currently only a couple of “fleas on the elephant. ” Therefore, it isn’t advisable to spend $5 to 10K on a mobile app, which would still need to be promoted, marketed, etc.  At $.99 per app sale, how many would it take to break even.

What about mobile-oriented websites?  Actually, these are easy to build, taking about 30 minutes per site.  DanHollings.mobi is an example.  In addition, local businesses need to be listed in Google Mobile as well as Google Local.  Dan offers three programs to his clients:

  • Mobile Bandit.  Add 10 clients at $1000 per month to earn $120,000/yr.
  • Gangster Money. How to get killer quality mobile traffic for as low as a penny.  AdMob is a pay-per-click network that can be used to generate very cheap traffic for pennies vs. in the dollar range on Google.
  • Mobile Marketing Cornerstone.  Turning 14 wild goose chases into 14 logical steps to making money.  How to structure text messages to better convert prospects.  Four formulas are included, e.g., Get Rich Quick.   Dan also has 7 Mobile Strategy Worksheets (7×7 Mobile Strategy Worksheets).

Dan Hollings “owed” attendees with his overall knowledge and over-delivered content on an introductory webinar to help others both understand the basics as well as get started with their own campaigns.  His three session detailed training should be a “no-brainer” for any serious Internet marketer.
