Are you living below your potential? Today we discuss the steps you need to start putting yourself in the position of attracting others who want to follow what you are doing. Picture the leader or mentor you are attracted to and/or following. It’s not about becoming that person, rather examine the qualities they have and what is needed for you to emulate those qualities. That is the essence of what you need to do.

What steps will you need to take to get started? If you’re like most people, you can’t even imagine yourself becoming like your mentor(s).  So the first steps you’ll need to take and perhaps the most difficult are “seeing” yourself in their position or exceeding their accomplishments. Did you know that you have the capacity to leverage talents in your own life that will attract others to you? If not, you need to get to work on this.  You need to see and believe that your own potential can carry you where you want to be in life.

Actually, the barriers are in your own mind.  You have to first see yourself in the position you desire to be in before you can get there.  Start by developing an image of the way you’d like things to be.  Where do you want your business to be in one year, three years, and beyond?  See it coming to pass.  This applies to your personal life as well.

Be innovative and do whatever it takes, until you have a clear vision of the way you want things to be in your life.  If you’re finding this to be a difficult exercise, just realize that it will be worth it and until you get this right, you’re limiting your own progress.  Get off by yourself in a place that you enjoy and imagine and really “see” it clearly.  Capturing your thoughts on paper, or in a journal, can be helpful and expose your deepest desires.  You may be surprised what comes out and what goes in the journal.

Expect great things and follow your dreams.  Start now, because the sooner you can truly see where you want to be, you’ll be one step closer.  Don’t expect this to be easy and be aware that there may be some opposition.  The effort will be worth it if you work on visualizing and truly seeing your own true destiny.
